Cloud

Servers owned by companies like Amazon, Google, or Microsoft that you can rent on demand.

Definition

Servers owned by companies like Amazon, Google, or Microsoft that you can rent on demand. Instead of running your own physical server, you use theirs. Most modern websites and apps run on cloud infrastructure.

Example

When you use Netflix, the video isn't stored on your device. It streams from servers in Amazon's cloud (AWS). Netflix rents thousands of these servers to deliver video to millions of people simultaneously.
